Mój stosunek do języka polskiego charakteryzują wzloty i upadki, jest jak historia miłosna. Na początku była atrakcyjność nowego, po której następowała świadomość trudności, które trzeba pokonać. Potem, gdy miałam wątpliwości, czy to dobry pomysł, żeby wejść w trwały związek z tym językiem, nastąpił wieloletni kryzys. Zastanawiałam się, czy w moim wieku w ogóle chcę podjąć wysiłek nauczenia się tego trudnego języka na tyle dobrze, by móc go używać zawodowo, czyli tłumaczyć z niego.

Białystok est une ville de Pologne orientale, située près de la frontière biélorusse. La première fois je veux y aller en été 2020, mais les trains polonais ont beaucoup de retard ce jour-là et je décide de redescendre du train alors que je suis encore à Varsovie. Depuis, l’dée d’y aller ne me quitte plus. Qu’est-ce que tu vas y faire, me demandent des amis polonais, il n’y a pas grand-chose à voir.

My name is Kateryna Yegorenkova, and I am from Kharkiv, Ukraine. I was born in 1976 in Russia, in the former USSR, and my roots are both Russian and Ukrainian. In 1986, my family moved to Kharkiv. After the collapse of the USSR and the independence of Ukraine in 1991, I got Ukrainian citizenship. Since then, I have identified myself as a citizen of Ukraine, this is my homeland.

Es ist halb sechs Uhr früh und ich stehe auf, nach kurzem, unruhigem Schlaf. Gestern Abend hatte ich Kopfschmerzen und meine Arbeit als freiwillige Flüchtlingshelferin schien bedroht. Heute Morgen geht es mir besser. Von sieben Uhr morgens bis sieben Uhr abends werde ich im Einsatz sein. Ich bin aufgeregt. Schaffe ich es rechtzeitig zum Eingang Nummer 10?
